Plans for 2006
Our nomadic cafe will be pulled (like our rickshaw) by a side by side tandem bicycle and we are planning to rove the playa as the Psychic Nomadic Gypsies of hope, nomadic costuming is de rigueur and lively serving wenches will be in attendance. Our goal is service and fun, not necessarily in that order. At least one night we will be teaming up with an DJ David Lienheart to be the core of a playa dance party. Other times we will set up in the deep playa to be a way station for distant and lonesome travelers, still other times serving refreshments on the edge of some fantastic impromptu happening tickles our fancy. Still other times we will host hooping and dancing events, with our own hoops and music, in both the full darkness and glorious dawns in the deep playa. We have a small but dedicated staff of long time vets and newbies all eager to serve.

I love the idea of being a distant way station for lost and weary travelers.
this year, I wanted to take the hearse out to the deepish playa from 10-4 or so, and play some really dep chill music, serve up fresh squeezed OJ, maybe have a bunch of water, etc, etc. and just seen who stumbles upon us...some of my best memories of the playa are wandering around the deep playa, late at night and just stumbling upon jus a such a gift. shall we do it together? or does a powered hearsilla ruin the aesthetic? we'll keep her sound low...
